About Athlete Origin
Mission: Empower Athletes to Live Successful and Fulfilling Lives Beyond Sport
We were founded by Angus Gilmour, an ex-professional Badminton player turned recruitment leader. In the 8 years following his sporting career, Angus helped to build an award-winning international recruitment company. Combining his knowledge and passion for the worlds of sport and recruitment, Athlete Origin was launched with the goal of building a best-in-class service which connects athletes with exciting new careers globally.

What We Do
Athlete Origin supports current and ex-elite athletes to enter high growth commercial careers. We have partnerships with a diverse and expanding range of companies – from innovative tech start-ups seeking talent to accelerate their business, to multi-national organisations with a huge range of opportunities globally. Our service supports athletes to achieve meaningful employment in these organisations, facilitating successful and fulfilling careers beyond sport.
The Role
Following the successful launch of our business, we’re looking for talented and driven people to accelerate our growth! As an early joiner, this role offers a massive opportunity to shape the future direction of Athlete Origin, whilst developing valuable commercial skills.
Combining business development, networking, research, marketing and commercial negotiations, Athlete Origin’s Business Development Associates will be taken through a comprehensive education in recruitment business development.
What you’ll do
- Business Development: Connect with companies via phone, email, LinkedIn, and in-person meetings. Form commercial partnerships with these companies to hire athletes into their organisations.
- Athlete Engagement: Connect with athletes via phone, email, LinkedIn, social media, referrals, and in-person meetings. Grow our community of athletes who could benefit from Athlete Origin’s support.
- Connect athletes with relevant job opportunities: Manage the full recruitment process from screening-introductions-interview-offer, and post placement support.
- Social Media Support: Support with growing Athlete Origin’s social media presence, raising awareness of our offering for athletes and companies.
